A part of me hates that I really like this song. Like most people who watched their relationship mature, and eventually devolve, I don’t care to see Domo and Crissy continue to rip each other to shreds in the public eye, but the music lover in me can acknowledge the way that Domo elevated her artistry with this song.

I love when there is an obvious rawness that comes from the heart. To do that successfully you have to willing to be vulnerable and transparent. Not only did Domo accomplish that, but the song is profound in its simplicity. Also, the beat is catchy—which is critical in this era to ensure the song can be played on repeat. Finally, Domo’s cadence is sensual and inspires you to listen.

Each of us probably has an ex that this song applies to which makes you want to yell the chorus at the top of your lungs:

I was blind / everybody told me what it was / but I ain’t fucking listen / cause I thought I was in love / I wish I never met you / bitch you fuckin kill my buzz / you ain’t have a fuckin reason / you played me because you could
