Wet Dream The Entertainer

#FEATURE 📣 @theycallme_wet Q: Why is what you do important? A: Being a successful female dancer in the male urban Exotic Entertainment world is something no one really knows exists. It isn’t in the forefront of mainstream media like female exotic dancing is or how important the female strip club scenes are a staple in hip hop and Black culture. So to be a successful female "Stud" (what we call Dom Dancer) mainly popular on the all male exotic revues and shows for majority straight crowds of women is something like finding a needle in hay stack or a unicorn. It is rare and allows me to be and love who I am. To be able to entertain women who might not even consider themselves attracted to a woman and to have them caught up in the enjoyment of my energy and even sometimes questioning their sexuality let's me know I’m doing my job well and have mastered my art. I've literally just let who I am and the things I learned about myself as well as looking up to other successful dancers that came before me (ex: Juicebox, King Kellz, @facetheoriginal , Flexx, Erotic) to be my guide when I first started dancing. I'm able be my silly, goofy, entertaining self naturally. What I do is important because I exist in a world where society, and some hating male dancers, say I shouldn’t. It's just icing on the cake that I'm good at it and love what I do—entertain! ———————————————————————– @theycallme_wet and I go back like babies and pacifiers! It has truly been a pleasure watching this talent grow into an amazing entertainer! To watch a person chase their dreams without succumbing to the pressure is both beautiful and inspiring. I know that the road has not been easy and the path was not paved, but Wet has created a lane and excelled in it! I am excited for the expansion, to see the brand continue to grow and the new ventures that will undoubtedly be under way. If you aren’t currently familiar, stop wasting time and familiarize yourself with one of the most passionate people, with a heart to match the skills brought to the stage! . . . . . #FEATURE 📣 @amirashaunice Q: Why is what you do important? A: I’m here to tell our stories. Stories for queers, women and most importantly black women. We don’t have enough strong voices in the TV industry. I refuse to settle for stereotypical portrayals, basic storylines and misrepresentation. I refuse to be silent with my work. I am loud, proud and honest. I want to tell the truth in all of my work. No matter who it may offend. This is why my work is important it sheds light on matters that are considered taboo. ————————————————— Since the first episode I have been a fan of @AmiraShaunice the producer, writer and show-runner of the brilliant web series New York Girls TV. What I appreciate most about her work is that it truly moves the culture forward with its raw and honest depictions. Her work is passion driven, purposeful and intentional. Women of color are always at the center telling vulnerable truths and exuding genius while doing it! Whenever anyone asks me to recommend a web series this is the first one I name, which speaks to the awesomeness of it. Now, Amira is spreading her creativity even further with a new series #ForTheLoveOfBoop and podcast #SexLovePlasdick on the way and I’m I’m overjoyed to be able to experience more work from her. If you haven’t, I recommend you to check out all things from this talent! Here are articles I’ve written that highlight #NYGTV : For #shadowandact ‘5 Black Queer Web Series That The Upcoming ‘The L Word’ Reboot Can Learn From’ (https://shadowandact.com/5-black-queer-web-series-that-the-upcoming-the-l-word-reboot-can-learn-from) For #msmalcolmhughes ‘17 Must see Black Lesbian/Queer web series, movies and documentaries’ (https://msmalcolmhughes.com/2015/08/30/17-must-see-black-lesbianqueer-web-series-movies-and-documentaries/comment-page-1/#comment-998) . . . . #FEATURE 📣 @kylivinthedream Q: Why is what you do important? A: #HoneyGroove is important because it is a safe space for queer people of color. Artists, entrepreneurs, art lovers, and queer people that just want to have a good time are brought together for a day. We have engaged over 100 artists and entrepreneurs, gained support from the District of Columbia, and have supporters that are ready to chip in and make sure that #HoneyGroove continues to be one of the largest celebrations of Black and queer people of color in DC outside of Black Pride. ———————————————- What I appreciate so much about the work of @kylivinthedream is the creation of a music experience unlike any other. I recall distinctily attending the inaugural year of the #HoneyGroove festival and how mesmerizing it was to be in a space dedicated to two things I love: live music and queer folks of color. More than the AMAZING musical performance, dope art and bomb food, it was communion. Everywhere you looked there were people smiling, dancing and having a great time in a space that felt free and welcoming. And to top it off, many of us ended the night with an impromptu jam session. Needless to say, but I will say it, this is an event that will always bring me back to DC and Is definitively worthy of your support and attendance. . . .
