Anyone who knows me is fully aware that there isn’t a rapper I adore and love more than Jay-Z. There’s even an inside joke that I’ve been supporting his work and riding for him for so long that he owes me a first child, lol. All of that goes to say that I can’t allow him becoming the first rapper to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame to go without recognition. Instead of writing a long post about what “god emcee? me, Jay-Hova!” has meant to me over the years, I’ve decided to be vulnerable and share a recording from a few years ago when I entered a contest to meet him in person. No one deserves it more. Congrats to the BEST!
