A lot of new music comes my way, and I try to give it all a fair chance, but you know a classic when you hear it; “The New Cupid” feat. Kendrick Lamar is just that. A lot of the comments on Youtube say that they’re only there for Kendrick Lamar’s verse, but the song is worth so much more of a thorough listen than that.
Not only does BJ’s voice sound ideal over the melodic beat, but I think we can all relate to the lyrics a bit. Have you never wondered what’s going on with love while trying to date? It seems that with our generation marriage is back on the rise, but sometimes when you’re in the thick of trying to find the one it can feel like anything but the truth. Sometimes you just wish Cupid would turn down from the club and turn up the heat in your finding Baby Boo. This song epitomizes that sentiment.
